Wandering In The Desire Room

Growing up in East Asia, China—a region shaped by sexual repression, limited education, and the marginalization of sexual minorities—I developed these images as a way to confront and make sense of these challenges. This self-portrait project represents my tentative exploration of sexual desire.
Set within intimate spaces, the project delves into issues of Chinese queer identity and insecurity, while reflecting the ongoing struggle to fully discover and express oneself in a restrictive society.
